St. Peter’s Knights of Columbus
Council 10510

Council Meetings:
Our council meets the first Tuesday of each month. All male members 18 years or older and in good standings with the church are invited to join the Knights of Columbus. We meet the first Tuesday of the month for a general meeting. The following dates in 2007 are set for meetings:
Febuary 5th • March 4th • April 1st • May 6th • June 3rd (Knight Feed)
July and August are free to give our knights and their families, time together

Activities of Council:

St. Peter’s Chili/Soup Cook-Off: Let’s eat drink and be merry, all for a worthy cause. This adult only evening has turned into the major fundraising tool at St. Peter’s. The Knights of Columbus is proud to take part in helping organize and develop this prestigious event with the Parish Council of Catholic Women. Please signup to help with this event on Feburary 2, 2008. Contact Steve Maddox to help volunteer selling tickets, setting up, serving beer and cleanup

Tootsie Roll Collection: One weekend of the year the Knights collect money at various area locations for mentally handicapped children. In 2006, this collection was held on the weekend of April 8th and 9th , and also weekend of April 15th and 16th. The Knights collected nearly $4,000 - the best drive to date.

One Rose One Life: This activity professes our commitment to the Culture of Life and our continuous stand against abortion.

Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest: This January 19, 2008, the children of St. Peter’s and the Dioceses are challenged to a basketball free throws contest. This is a championship tournament that proceeds all the way to the nationals located in Washington D.C.

One Rose for Motherhood: The Knights of Columbus is proud to honor new mothers and their pro-life example. At the ceremony of baptism, Knights give the mother a long stem rose to show our support of the Rite of Life and our honor of motherhood.

Knights of Columbus Blood Drive: All Knights and parishioners are encouraged to donate blood during the month of December for St. Peter’s. Many Knights and parishioners donate throughout the year at the Community Blood Bank. We have grown to be one of the largest groups to donate in the area.
