The Soupor Chili Cook-off was started in 1991 by a group of parishioners as an event to help build the community of the newly formed St. Peter's Parish. That year the committee raised $1,926. The event continued to grow and evolved to include an auction. Celebrating it's 20th year, the St. Peter's Soupor Chili Cook-off raised just over $60,000 in 2010.

Over the years the proceeds from the event have helped finance the courtyard repairs, building of storage cabinets in Bishop Vasa Hall, kitchen equipment and bleachers in the school gym just to name a few.
