Financial Summary

St. Peter Parish, which includes both the Church and the School, ended its fiscal year on June 30, 2019. Although the annual external review of our financial records has not yet been completed, the numbers below should provide you with a good overview of how the Parish uses the resources you so generously provide.
  • Total operating expenses for the Parish were $3.11M. This number is actually lower than the total expenses  from the previous year which totaled $3.12M.
  • Although there was no real increase in total expenses the Parish did see a growth in expenditures in several areas such as:

    • Parish Utility Costs were up 13.2% with increases being seen in every area.
  • Total revenue for the Parish was $2.98M - $130,000 less than total expenses for the year.
  • Routine tithing (Sunday and Holy day collections) makes up 51% of the Parish's total income; tuition makes up 30% of total income; 7% is provided in the form of rebates from the Diocese for contributions by parishioners to the Joy of the Gospel and Charity & Stewardship Appeals; 5% is provided by designated donations and gifts; 3% is provided by various grants; 2% is provided by donations from the SFA; 2% is provided by the annual Parish fundraiser; while the remaining less than 1% is provided by various sources.
    • Routine tithing saw a drop in donations for the year with $1.55M tithed compared to $1.70M the year before.
    • Other gifts and donations (designated and undesignated) totaled $149K, down $87K from the year before.
    • Joy of the Gospel Rebates were down $47K with a total of $75K.
    • Charity and Stewardship Appeal Rebates were actually up $4K at $137K.
  • Tuition funded 41% of this year's total expenses while an additional 5% of those expenses was funded by grants and an additional 4% by donations from the SFA.
  • St. Peter Parish strives to pay all of its obligations in a timely manner - and did so this year - however, the decrease in revenue did require that the Parish use some of its reserve funds to cover expenses.
